Cincinnati Kings Lose 4-0 in Wilmington

Wilmington, N.C. - The Cincinnati Kings lost, 4-0, in a road contest to the Wilmington Hammerheads in United Soccer Leagues Second Division action Saturday night.

Chris Bagley put the Hammerheads on the board first with a goal in the 15th minute; Jason Hotchkin assisted. Hotchkin then scored an unassisted goal of his own in the 51st minute to put the Hammerheads up 2-0. Bagley scored his second goal of the night in the 57th minute off a penalty kick to make the score 3-0. The final goal was scored by Anthony Maher in the 78th minute with the assist from Derek Popovich.

The Kings outshot the Hammerheads, 14-10, but were unable to find the back of the net. Kings' goalkeeper Jordan James, a former Hammerhead, faced seven shots with three saves. Wilmington keeper Bart Creasman had seven saves in the shutout.

The loss drops the Kings to 3-2-1 on the season. The Hammerheads earned their first victory of the 2006 season, improving to 1-1-3.

The Kings return to action next Saturday versus the Richmond Kickers, who entered the night at the top of the Second Division standings. The Kings handed the Kickers their only loss of the season in Richmond on April 23, 1-0. Kickoff for next Saturday's game at the Xavier University Soccer Complex is 7:00 p.m.
