PITTSBURGH--The Cincinnati Kings lost to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 2-0, Saturday night at Falconi Field in United Soccer Leagues Second Division action. With the win, the Riverhounds move past the Kings into fourth place in the Second Division.
The Riverhounds got the lead in the ninth minute when Gabe Bernstein scored a goal off an assist by defender Cody Bragg off a free kick. The goal was Bernstein's second of the season and the assist was Bragg's fifth of the season. The Riverhounds took a 1-0 lead at halftime.
As soon as the second half whistle blew, the Riverhounds offense attacked when mid-fielder Greg Victor recorded his first goal of the season at the 46th minute mark. Bragg got the assist on the goal.
Goalkeeper Chris Robinson was credited with the shutout victory and improved his record to 1-1-2 on the season. Robinson made three saves in net.
The Riverhounds out-shot the Kings 13-9.
The Kings now stand at 4-4-3 in the division and play a rare Sunday afternoon game today at 5 p.m. against the Harrisburg City Islanders at the Xavier University Soccer Complex.
