Christmas in New York City

December 26, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
NYC Internationalz News Release

New York, NY. The ABA NYC Internationalz have started creating the "BUZZZzzzz!," jolting the head of every serious ballplayer in NYC and overseas, they will also be offering the experience of a lifetime to 250 high school youths and college students throughout NYC, with an opportunity to participate in the 2008 inaugural season for the NYC Internationalz.

Their website is scheduled to launch in January 2008 at www.nycinternationalz.com. "We can only tell you...the first two "tryout campz" are scheduled at the Legendary "each one teach one" Halicombe Rucker Park (uptown Manhattan) for late May 2008 and because of the large number of requests, there will be several tryout camps throughout NYC," stated co-owner Anwar Sharhan. "Our website will detail the tryouts including the final two camps scheduled for "Da Cagez" at West 4th Street in Manhattan. In the city that never sleeps, expect the unexpected...you won't believe it, but you'll see it."

This ABA expansion team brings to the table a professional, motivated staff of selfless individuals and their commitment to aid the City of New York. Since the announcement of the Internationalz three months ago in September, this ball club has been making measureless strides in the community. The Internationalz are helping to build awareness throughout the city by sharing compassion for those less fortunate, giving food and clothes to support multi-cultural families from around the world living in New York City during the business of all holiday seasons - Christmas.

Co-owners Anwar Sharhan and Harvey Li reiterated, "We bring our hearts and hands to Brooklyn because this borough raised us; we share our blessings because it's who we are, and we give because we remembver where we came from and where it all started." These young Brooklyn born "Boyz" make sure that everything they do comes from the roots and the streets that paved them. On December 23rd, with the help of GM Margaret Etkins, Asst GM Maple Li, Asst Head Coach Shaun Mller and Production Engineer/District Manager for Brooklyn A.J. Luna, the NYC Internationalz collectively gave clothing, cooked, prepared and served food for the poverty-stricken community at the Brooklyn Armory on the corner of Atlantic Avenue. "The smiles, thanks and appreciation we received from the community confirmed the warmest blessings we could ever receive," stated co-owner Harvey Li.

In addition to all of the community alliances in progress, the NYC Internationalz have continued to form new prospective alliances which will be released with the website launch in January.
