Edmonton Chill News Release

With the exhibition opener coming Friday April 11 at 7:30pm at the Grant MacEwan Center for Sport and Wellness, and the regular season opener just 16 days away, the Edmonton Chill made some adjustments to the roster that should pay dividends this season.

Earlier this week the Chill inked Anthony "Teon" Knox, a 6'9" 260 pound power forward. The native of Baltimore, Maryland brings a veteran presence to the first-year club having played in top pro leagues all over the world, including Argentina, Mexico, Bulgaria, and England where Teon was named the league's MVP. Knox also has experience in the IBL working to a 19 point and 9.5 rebounds per game average for Central Oregon in 2006.

The team also welcomed Eric Crookshank to the fold for the inaugural season. Eric comes to the Chill from the ABA's Halifax Rainmen where he was an All-Star and led his club in scoring (20.5), rebounding (12.25) and minutes (33.8). Eric really showed his skills at this year's ABA All-Star game scoring 28 points and adding 14 boards and six steals in leading his team to victory.

Finally, the Chill released Antone Jarrell. Team owner Troy Barns said, "Antone was an undersized guy who played a bit bigger than he actually was which was important to the club earlier this winter. However, with the additions of Lee Scruggs and Teon Knox we now have solid size and depth in the frontcourt and felt it best to allow Antone to seek other offers."
