Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs are proud to announce that prospect Owen Martin has signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement. From Oakbank, Manitoba, Martin was selected by the Chiefs in the second round (27th overall) of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft in May.

"We are excited that Owen and his family have committed to the Spokane Chiefs organization," Chiefs General Manager Matt Bardsley said. "He is a highly intelligent and creative player, who also has an excellent release on his shot. His overall game will be a great addition to our team and how we want to play."

"I'm excited to be a part of the Chiefs organization and I can't wait to get to Spokane for training camp at the end of August," Martin said.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound forward spent the 2021-22 season with Eastman Selects U15 AAA, where he piled up 88 points on 61 goals and 27 assists in just 32 games. Martin added 21 more points (10G-11A) in 10 playoff games.

The 15-year-old also played two games up with the Eastman Selects U17 squad, where he tacked on another three points on two goals and an assist.

"We look forward to watching Owen's development during his time as a Chief," Bardsley said.
