Orange County Flyers News Release

Chico took the three game series at Goodwin Field with the Flyers 9-5 Wednesday behind a strong start from Mike Cosgrove. Desi Wilson and Craig Kuzmic each drove in three runs in the game. Kuzmic's two-run double in the 9th inning gave Chico the cushion they needed to hold on and win.

Chico scored two runs in the 1st inning and four runs in the 2nd inning off of Matt Lincoln. Lincoln would settle down and pitch scoreless ball into the 6th inning.

The Flyers rallied for four runs in the 7th inning with the help of three Chico errors. Fullerton got the four runs on only one single from Bret Levier.

The Flyers scratched out a run in the 9th off Springman, but Chad Chop grounded out with the tying run in the on deck circle.

Rick Elder returned from the disabled list and made two sparkling catches in right field. He also threw a runner out at the plate.

Ryan Olson and Jeff Groeger were solid in relief. Casey Gordon had two hits and scored twice.

The Flyers will look to get back on track as Yuma comes into Goodwin Field tomorrow at 7:05 pm. Craig Frydendall will get the start for Fullerton.
