Chicago Soul vs. Milwaukee Wave Preview

The Chicago Soul (2-7), who last met the Milwaukee Wave (3-2) on December 1, will look to bounce back against the defending champions and border rivals after facing three consecutive losses, with the streak beginning in Milwaukee. The Soul were defeated 14-9 by the Wave last time despite getting off to a 5-0 start in the first half. With home field advantage this time, the Soul will look to retaliate and equalize the series. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday at the Sears Centre Arena.

The Competition

After getting off to a 1-2 start, the Wave have managed to turn their luck around as they now come off of two straight wins, with the most recent victory claimed over the Rochester Lancers last Saturday. Milwaukee saw three-point goals from Josh Rife, Nick Perera, and Joe Hammes, while Marcelo Fontana added two goals to lead the Wave to a 13-6 win over the Lancers.

New Leadership

On Tuesday, the Soul announced the promotion of Novi Marojevic to head coach, replacing Manny Rojas. Marojevic, who possesses over 20 years of professional indoor soccer experience, assumed head coaching responsibilities immediately upon Rojas' leave. The Montenegro native is set to lead the squad for the remainder of the season.
