Chicago Slaughter Suffer Defeat To Richmond Revolution On the Road

HOFFMAN ESTATES -The Chicago Slaughter (0-2) lost to the Richmond Revolution (2-0) in their first Indoor Football League (IFL) road game of the season. Coming back from an 8-0 deficit to start the 2nd quarter, the Slaughter went into halftime down by 6, trailing the Revolution 24-18. Following a scoreless 3rd quarter of play, the teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter resulting the Revolution's 30-25 victory over the Slaughter.

QB Deonte Morris relieved Mike Donato in the 2nd quarter handing off to Jarrett Payton who ran the ball 24 yards scoring the Slaughter's first touchdown of the evening. Morris completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to WR De'Cody Fagg before rushing for a 4-yard touchdown to bring the Slaughter back to a one possession game going into halftime. The Slaughter defense stepped up in the 3rd quarter with two interceptions by star DB Dennison Robinson and Brandon Fields. Morris rushed for a 7-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter, his second rushing TD of the night, but it wasn't enough to defeat the Revolution on their home turf.

The next home game for the Slaughter will be Sunday, March 21st, at the Sears Centre Arena against the Bloomington Extreme. Kickoff is schedule for 2:05 p.m.
