January 11, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
Radio broadcasts of Mike Ditka's ArenaBowl XX champion Chicago Rush will continue to be heard in Chicago on 105.9 WCKG, Free FM, for the next two seasons, the team announced today.
As part of the multi-year contract extension, WCKG will broadcast all 16 regular season games live and continue its coverage of the Rush throughout the ArenaBowl playoffs.
In addition, veteran play-by-play broadcaster Tom Dore will continue as the team's radio voice for a seventh season. Joining Dore in the booth as analyst for the third-consecutive year is former Chicago Bears offensive lineman James "Big Cat" Williams.
"WCKG has been a perfect match for the Rush the past two seasons and we are thrilled to be able to continue our partnership for at least two more years," said Mike Polisky, Rush president/general manager. "And we are excited to know that Tom and Big Cat will return to call all the action as the team looks to repeat as ArenaBowl champions in 2007."
"We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Arena Football League Champion Chicago Rush," said Rod Zimmerman, CBS senior vice president/market manager and general manager of WCKG-FM. "With this season's addition of the Chicago Bulls joining the Rush in our program lineup, 105.9 WCKG, Free FM is proud to be the home of two championship-caliber Chicago sports franchises."
In the event of a conflict with Chicago Bulls broadcasts on WCKG, Rush games will be moved to another Chicago radio station.
