Chicago Magic Academy Director To Be Inducted Into Hall Of Tradition

Rockford, Illinois, August 31, 2009...The newest member of the Rampage Futbol LLC family, Chicago Magic director Raul Diaz Arce will become the newest inductee to D.C. United's Hall of Tradition. The induction ceremonies will be held on September 12 during halftime at the D.C United vs. Seattle Sounders FC. According to D.C. United, club executives and playing alumni named Diaz Arce a finalist for United's ultimate individual honor before he was selected as this year's Hall inductee by a fan vote conducted on dcunited.com.
Diaz Arce is noted as a fan favorite who is remembered as one of the most prolific scorers in the club's history. His career highlights include, helping United capture two MLS Cup trophies with his goals (1996 and 1997), a U.S. Open Cup championship (1996), and the Supporters' Shield trophy (1997). He was United's top goal scorer with 23 goals during the 1996 season and ranked second in the League behind Tampa Bay's Roy Lassiter. Diaz Arce is the club's second all-time leading scorer with 44 goals in 68 games and ranks first with an average of 0.65 goals per game.
Raul Diaz Arce officially joined the Chicago Magic at the end of July after fulfilling his US National Team obligations. The Chicago Magic was acquired by Rampage Futbol LLC earlier in the summer for an undisclosed sum.
The Rockford Rampage completed its inaugural season in the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL ) forcing league opponents the Philadelphia KiXX and Monterrey La RaZa out of the playoffs to take on the 2008-'09 regular season first place, Baltimore Blast. The Rampage took the lead early in the game and fought the Blast goal for goal eventually losing the Championship match 13-10 in Baltimore. The Rampage will begin their second season in the NISL this November with all home games being played at the MetroCentre in Rockford.
