CHICAGO FIRE VS. CLEVELAND CITY STARS TUESDAY AT TOYOTA PARK

The Chicago Fire will play the Cleveland City Stars of the United Soccer League's Second Division this Tuesday, July 1 (7:30 p.m. CT) in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at TOYOTA PARK in Bridgeview, Ill. Should the Fire win, their quarterfinal game would be July 8, either at TOYOTA PARK versus the Rochester Rhinos, or on the road at D.C. United. The tournament's semifinals are scheduled for Aug. 12 with the final set for Aug. 26.

CHICAGO FIRE @ COLUMBUS CREW SATURDAY

The Chicago Fire (6-5-2, 20 pts.) meet the Columbus Crew (8-4-2, 26 pts.) in the first of two regular season meetings this Saturday, July 5, at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The Fire are fresh off a 0-0 draw vs. San Jose at TOYOTA PARK, while the Crew are coming off a 2-1 home win over the Colorado Rapids last Saturday. The Fire and Crew have already met once this season, as Chicago beat Columbus 3-2 in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup play-in game at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill. on 6/10. Saturday's game will be televised by Fox Soccer Channel, and can be heard on Chicagoland radio station WRTO 1200-AM (Spanish).

The Fire took the 2007 series versus the Crew 2-0-1, including a 3-2 win at TOYOTA PARK on 6/03/07, a 0-0 draw at TOYOTA PARK on 8/04/07, and a 1-0 away win at Columbus on 9/08/07. The Fire lead the all-time series 17-10-8, including a 8-5-4 mark in games in Columbus.

BLANCO TO BE FEATURED ON SPORTSCENTER "MY WISH" SERIES JULY 2

The Chicago Fire's Cuauhtémoc Blanco will be featured this week on ESPN's Sportscenter as part of the network's "My Wish" series which has been made possible by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Blanco's feature will debut on Wednesday, July 2, at 5:00 p.m. CT on SportCenter, and run through the morning on July 3. ESPN Deportes' SportsCenter will present special Spanish-language editions of the series on Sunday, June 29, and Sunday, July 6.

BLANCO NOMINATED IN THREE CATEGORIES AT PREMIOS DEPORTES AWARDS PROGRAM

On July 14th, Cuauhtémoc Blanco will attend the prestigious Premios Deportes program at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California at 8:30 p.m. CT. The program will be broadcast as a two-hour sports and entertainment television special on Univision, honoring the 2007 Latino athletes of the year for their excellence in sports and their impact on the Hispanic community. Blanco has been nominated in the categories of 2007 North American Mid-fielder of the Year, Soccer Player of the Year, and Male Athlete of the Year. The event and will air on Univision on July 20th.

SPARKY AT OAK LAWN INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

The official mascot of the Chicago Fire, Sparky, will be joined by other area mascots at the Village of Oak Lawn and The Oak Lawn Park District 95th St. parade on Friday, July 4. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. CT at 51st St. and heads westbound down 95th Street. It will finish at 55th Court approximately 11:30 a.m. CT. Last years mascots included: "Southpaw" (Chicago White Sox), "Benny the Bull" (Chicago Bulls), "Boomer" (Windy City Thunderbolts), "Skates" (Chicago Wolves), "Ronald McDonald", and "The Little People". CHICAGO FIRE AT 2008 CHICAGO STREET SOCCER CUP

8TH ANNUAL FRANK KLOPAS CELEBRITY PRO-AM GOLF OUTING SEPTEMBER 8

Chicago Fire Soccer will host the 8th Annual Frank Klopas Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Outing on Monday, September 8, at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, Ill. Cost is $250 per golfer, or $800 per foursome (tax deductible). Participation is limited to 36 foursomes, and each foursome will golf with a Chicago Fire player, Chicago Fire coach, TV/radio personality, current or retired professional athlete, or other celebrity.
