Chicago Fire FC News Release
The Chicago Fire (6-8-8, 26 points) will attempt to snap their five game winless streak and place themselves back into the thick of the MLS Cup Playoff race when they travel to Salt Lake City, UT to challenge defending MLS Cup Champions Real Salt Lake (12-4-8, 44 points) at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 3:00 PM CT (TeleFututra).
After going 0-1-2 in the first three matches in the month of September and 0-3-2 in their last five, the Men in Red will look to assert their intentions of claiming one of the four wild card spots in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Currently, the Fire sit seven points back of the eighth and final postseason spot. With eight matches remaining on the docket and games in hand on each MLS team, with the exception of the San Jose Earthquakes, the Fire must improve their 3-6-2 record on the road to remain in the playoff hunt.
