Chicago Fire FC News Release

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced that it has transferred forward Kacper Przybyłko to FC Lugano in the Swiss Super League. Per Club policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Kacper will be an important addition for our partner club FC Lugano," said Chicago Fire FC Sporting Director Georg Heitz. "It's no secret that we have been planning to move Kacper prior to the start of the 2024 season. This transfer will provide additional reinforcements for FC Lugano while also providing Kacper with an opportunity to play in a competitive European league."

Przybyłko, 30, was originally acquired by the Fire on Jan. 22, 2022, from the Philadelphia Union. Prior to joining Chicago, Przybyłko played three seasons with the Union, registering 35 goals and 14 assists in 83 appearances (77 starts). From 2011-2018, Przybyłko made 162 appearances across all competitions for Arminia Bielefeld, 1. FC Köln, Gruether Fürth and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Chicago's 2024 regular season, driven by Carvana, will open on the road against Philadelphia at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. The following weekend, the Fire will host 2023 MLS Supporters' Shield winners FC Cincinnati on Saturday, March 2 at Soldier Field.

Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT, the match against Cincinnati will mark the earliest home opener in Chicago Fire history. Tickets to the match can be purchased here via Ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-MLS-FIRE. For more information on the Fire's regular season schedule, click here.
