Chicago Blaze Rout the Power to Improve 2-1

Naperville, IL - The Chicago Blaze improved their record to 2-1 on Saturday evening defeating the Birmingham Power by a score of 84-59. The Blaze were led by Taquilla Allen who scored 25 points versus her former team. Jamie Redd added 15 and Tamika Catchings chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. The Power were led by Nitra Griffith who scored 10 points.

The Blaze will look to go 3-1 on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Springfield Spirit in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Chicago Blaze is entering its third season in the NWBL. The Blaze will play a 22-game schedule through March 23 and will play its home games at Merner Fieldhouse located at North Central College in Naperville, IL.

The National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) showcases professional women basketball players from across the nation, including players from the WNBA who choose to stay in the U.S. to play during the off-season. The season is played from January through April and the teams include the Birmingham Power, CHICAGO BLAZE, Colorado Chill, Dallas Fury, Houston Stealth, and Springfield Spirit.
