Chesapeake Tide set to take on Stampede
April 11, 2007 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
Chesapeake Tide News Release
(Upper Marlboro, Maryland) - The Chesapeake Tide look to continue their winning ways as they take on the #1 team in the Atlantic Division, the Steubenville Stampede, in their first road contest of the season. The match-up will take place at St. Johns Arena in Steubenville, Ohio at 7:30 pm on April 13, 2007.
The Stampede has started their 2007 season as the front runner for the Atlantic Division, with two straight victories in which they have outscored opponents 112 to 9, with visiting teams finding it hard to score at the Stampede's home field, St John's Arena. Lakeland College graduate, Ryan Maiuri, leads the Stampede's offense at the quarterback position, while 6'11", 300 lb lineman Carlos Spinner is an obvious integral part of the Stampede offensive line.
The Tide has continued to bring in high-quality athletes with the recent signing of Shepherd All-American, Adam Hoffman. Hoffman, a 6'5, 345 lb lineman, will certainly be a dominating force on the offensive line. Hoffman joins the Tide from a stint in the Arena Football 2 League with the Manchester Wolves. Hoffman, a Knoxville, Maryland resident, is expected to start this week against the Stampede.
