Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
FORT MYERS, FL (June 9, 2008) -The best deal on gas in South Fort Myers, remains the best deal in minor league baseball tonight.
Box Seat tickets, normally $7.00, will cost only $3.95 for tonight's 7:05 p.m. game.
The Fort Myers Miracle Professional Baseball Club's "Cheaper by the Gallon" promotion is giving fans a savings at the ticket office of $3.05 thanks to the price of a gallon of gas. As of noon, the lowest price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in the vicinity of Hammond Stadium is $3.95. According to the Associated Press, drivers are paying an average of $4 for a gallon of gasoline for the first time today.
The Miracle have a chance to clinch the West Division first half title tonight with a win over Vero Beach. The magic number to clinch the first-half championship is one, with 7 games to play. Fort Myers leads Tampa by 6 ½ games and holds the tie-breaker against the Yankees.
The Miracle's goal to "fuel up" the local economy will also include gallon giveaways. Fans will have the chance to walk away with a gallon of pork and beans, broccoli, and water.
Patrons will also benefit with a discount on popular items from the grill (hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bratwursts and chicken Sandwiches). The same price for a gallon of gasoline ($3.95) is the same reduced price for these ballpark favorites.
You can fill up on domestic draft beer for only $3.95.
Since there are four quarts in a gallon, if there are four people in your vehicle when you arrive at Hammond Stadium, your parking is free tonight.
Every fan that attends tonight's game will be entered into a drawing to receive a pass for free gas, courtesy of the Miracle.
The Miracle stimulus plan "gasses up" the local economy every Monday home game. The "Cheaper by the Gallon" ticket price only applies to tickets purchased today, either at the Miracle administrative offices or at the Hammond Stadium ticket office beginning at 5:30 p.m. This offer will not apply to on-line ticket purchases.
MIRACLE MEDIA AVAILABILITY
There will be no media availability for Miracle players or coaches prior to tonight's game.
PRICE TO PITCH IN FORT MYERS
