
Chatham Native Signs with Sliders

Two more players from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO will join the Sliders this summer in Springfield. Brendan Kleekamp and Chatham native Nathan Prindle will join returning starter Wade Rothermich as Lindenwood University alum.
Prindle is in his freshman season at Lindenwood after attending Glenwood HS. The Chatham native is having a solid freshman season batting .336 with 2 HR and 29 RBI's in 35 games this year. In his last four games for the Lions he is 5-11 with 9 RBI's, four runs scored and 2 stolen bases. The 6'0 infielder brings solid defense and a hot bat with him to Springfield this summer.
Kleekamp is also in his freshman year at Lindenwood where he has settled into the starting rotation. He has made ten appearances so far this season with six of them as the starting pitcher. He is currently 2-4 with a 7.34 ERA after a few rocky starts late in the season. Brendan was named first team all-district his senior year at St. Francis Borgia after being selected second team all-district in his junior year.
Prindle and Kleekamp join last years starter for the Sliders Wade Rothermich as alum from Lindenwood U. Rothermich is having a nice sophomore season where he is batting .320 with 20 RBI's. Rothermich has added 22 walks to only 15 strikeouts in his 125 at bats this season. The outfielder has also been charged with only one error in 35 games this season.
The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League with teams in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Their 60 game schedule begins in late May and runs into August. All Sliders home games are played at Robin Roberts Stadium located at 1415 N Grand Ave E in Springfield, IL.
