Charleston SC. Charleston Oktoberfest 2005 presented by Rick Hendrick BMW will be held at Blackbaud Stadium, Saturday, October 1 from 1 pm - 7 pm. There will be live German Oompah music by the Hans Schmidt Band and Die Mitternachters plus other live music. Food specials include bratwurst and knockwurst, authentic German beers plus the first 2000 attendee's will receive a free commemorative stein.
Charleston Oktoberfest presented by Rick Hendrick BMW will benefit two local charities with a portion of the proceeds going to Live 5 News' Debi's Kids Angel Tree campaign and the Salvation Army. The 2005 Oktoberfest Corporate Challenge will benefit Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina.
Children's events include mini-soccer games on the stadium field, a Mountain Slide, Human Foosball, a Jump Castle, a Hot-Shot Power-Kick game and face painting.
The 2005 Oktoberfest Corporate Challenge will run during the Oktoberfest festivities with local corporate teams competing in a variety of fun events including tug-o-war, barrel races, three-legged races and bratwurst eating competitions.
Charleston Oktoberfest is presented by Rick Hendrick BMW with additional support from The Daniel Island Company, T & T Sports, Charleston Magazine, Charleston Brewing Company, Live 5 News, the City Paper, the Daniel Island News, Oldies 102.5, The Drive 100.5, Q104.5 and the Charleston Battery.
