
Charleston Battery Mourns Loss of Chief Operating Officer Betsy McAdams

Charleston, SC. Charleston Battery Chief Operating Officer Betsy McAdams passed away Thursday morning after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Betsy was an original employee of the Charleston Battery since it's inception in 1993. The Charleston Battery will observe a moment of silence before next Thursday's match with the Puerto Rico Islanders in her honor.
Betsy joined the Charleston Battery staff in 1993, the year the Club was formed; she went on to serve in a number of roles including Director of Operations and Director of Finance & Business Administration; she was named Chief Operating Officer in May 2008.
Prior to joining the Battery, Betsy was the Purchasing Agent at Blackbaud until 1996 and then the Executive Assistant to former Blackbaud CEO and Battery majority owner, Tony Bakker who said, "Betsy will be sorely missed by everyone in the Battery family. There was no one more dedicated, more conscientious and more enthusiastic than Betsy in everything that concerned the club. Betsy was a wonderful human being and no person could have a more loyal and trustworthy friend. All of our thoughts and prayers are with her family."
