Charleston Battery Fans Donate $12,912 for Hurricane Katrina Relief

Charleston SC. Fans of the USL First Division Charleston Battery Pro Soccer Team raised $12,912 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina; all money will be donated via the American Red Cross. The Charleston Battery fan's donated $6,549 at the Battery's regular season finale versus the Seattle Sounders on Friday, September 2; the Charleston Battery matched the fan's donations making a grand total of $12,912.

The Charleston Battery has also teamed up with two Daniel Island businesses to donate an additional $9,500 to the American Red Cross. The Charleston Battery will donate $7,500 to local ESPN radio host Bobby Hartin's fund-raising drive and The Hampton Inn Daniel Island and The Queen Anne's Revenge Restaurant have each added $1000 on behalf of the Charleston Battery.
