The Canton Charge defeated the Austin Toros, 93-88, at the Cedar Park Center in Texas on Friday night. The victory improved Canton's record to 19-12 on the season in their first-ever win in Austin, while the Toros dropped to 15-13.

The score was tied 23-23 after a back and forth first quarter that saw five lead changes and four ties, as Kyle Gibson and Antoine Agudio led Canton with six points apiece. The trend continued in the second, with neither team leading by more than one bucket entire period until the final four seconds. The Toros shot 58% to the Charge's 48% in the second and after six more lead changes and two ties, Austin held a 52-48 advantage at the half.

Canton came out in the third and initiated a 15-2 run in the first 5:01 to build a 63-54 advantage. The Charge then forced seven-straight misses and ultimately held the Toros to 5-of-20 shooting in the period to gain a 71-64 lead heading into the fourth. The third proved to be one of the Charge's strongest defensive efforts of the season, as they held Austin to a season and franchise-low 12 points.

The Charge were able to extend their lead to as many as 11 early in the fourth, but the Toros would not go away quietly, going on a 16-4 run to tie the game 84-84. On the ensuing possession with 1:59 left, Gibson pulled down a key offensive rebound that allowed Ryan Rossiter to knock down his second three-pointer of the game and second of the season to put Canton ahead 87-84. A key stop on the other end led to Agudio hitting a floating jumper that would give the Charge the cushion they needed to hold the Toros off the rest of the way for the victory.
