Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rowdies hit the road this weekend to visit the Charlotte Independence in the opening match of their September slate.
Here's a look at some of the biggest matches happening in the East this weekend.
Charlotte Independence vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies
Saturday, 7 p.m. | ESPN+
Charlotte is on the wrong side of the playoff line and has just seven matches remaining to make up a six-point gap to the current line. Saint Louis FC has a six point edge and two games in hand.
Tampa Bay is in fourth place for the first time since April after Indy's win over New York on Wednesday night. The Rowdies will look to continue their road form which has seen them pick up 2.0 points per game away from Al Lang.
Charleston Battery vs. Indy Eleven
Saturday, 6 p.m. | ESPN+
Charleston was bumped below the playoff line by Saint Louis' win Wednesday night, though it does have at least one game in hand over just about everyone above.
Indy leapfrogged the Rowdies into third place with a win over first place New York on Wednesday but faces a quick turnaround for this road match.
Saint Louis FC vs. Nashville SC
Saturday, 8:30 p.m. | ESPN+
Saint Louis has won back-to-back matches and moved into 10th place and the final playoff position heading into the weekend.
Nashville beat the Rowdies last weekend and could move into first place over the idle Red Bulls if it is able to pull off another road win.
