
CFL names players of the week

Toronto, ON - (October 22, 2008) - Henry Burris, Renauld Williams, Luca Congi, and Paris Jackson were named the CFL's top players for week #17, the Canadian Football League announced today.
Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB - Henry Burris - Calgary Stampeders
Winnipeg Blue Bombers 16 @ Calgary Stampeders 37
Highlights / Key Stats:
Henry Burris completed 28 of 36 passes for 337 yards and a CFL season high five touchdown passes with no interceptions in the Calgary Stampeders home victory. Burris spread the ball around with seven different receivers catching passes, led by Nik Lewis with 10. Burris also rushed five times for 25 yards.
Henry Burris has completed 353 of 547 passes for 4703 yards with 36 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions this season. His passer efficiency rating of 104.5 is second in the CFL. Burris has also rushed 81 times for 560 yards and three touchdowns. This is Burris' second player of the week honour this season.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Renauld Williams had 11 tackles and three special teams tackles in the Saskatchewan Roughriders narrow victory over the visiting Ticats. Williams tackled running back Tre Smith five times and receiver Chris Bauman three times.
Renauld Williams has 35 tackles, three sacks and two forced fumbles this season. He has also accumulated 18 special teams tackles.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Kicking with a 30 km/hr wind, Luca Congi made a 55-yard field goal, and followed that by making the game winning 36-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter. Congi made two of three field goals and all three of his converts in the Saskatchewan Roughriders victory over the visiting Ticats.
Luca Congi has made 36 of 41 field goals for a league leading 87.8% rate. Congi has also made all 37 of his convert attempts.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Paris Jackson caught eight passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in the B.C. Lions crucial road victory. The eight receptions and 127 yards were both career highs for the six year CFL veteran.
Paris Jackson has 68 receptions for 1,058 yards and six touchdowns this season, all career highs. This is Jackson's third player of the week award this season.
