Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - CF Montréal announced on Friday that it has acquired midfielder Matko Miljevic (pronunciation: Mil-ye-vich), who signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, including an option year in 2025.
Miljevic, 20, is born in Miami, Florida, from Argentinian parents and of Croatian descent. He has both Argentinian and US citizenships, so he does not occupy an international spot on the Club roster.
"I'm very happy that he chose our project, especially knowing that several MLS clubs were also interested in signing him," said CF Montréal sporting director Olivier Renard. "He's a versatile player who can play in different offensive positions. We welcome him with us."
After a short stint with the Boca Juniors Academy, he has played with Argentinos Juniors since 2011, making his debut with the first team based in Buenos Aires in 2018.
On the international stage, he played with the U16 and U20 US teams, as well as the U18 and U20 Argentinian teams. More recently, in January 2020, he was called up to the United States U20 squad for two friendlies against Mexico.
Transaction: CF Montréal acquires midfielder Matko Miljevic, who signs a contract for three years and a half including an option year in 2025.
