Tri-Cities Fever News Release
In front of a home crowd of 4,702 the Tri-Cities Fever looked to pull away from the Central Valley Coyotes in the American West Division. However it was the Coyotes who were victorious with their 4th quarter dominance.
The game looked to be one dominated by offense. By the end of the half the score was already 36-30 Fever. The second half however was a much different story. Central Valley held the Fever to only 6 points in the second half as well as had a big interception in the end zone in the 4th quarter. The play of the game had to be at the end of the 3rd. Central Valley down 37-42 decided to trick the Fever when kicker Michael Bjork went for a onside kick that surprised Tri-Cities. Central Valley recovered the kick and on that same possession took the lead with a 34 yard bomb to WR Weston Borba which gave the Coyotes a 44-42 lead.
Tri-Cities had a couple of big opportunities to pull away from the Coyotes, but were unable to perform in the red zone. The Fever went 2-5 in the red zone while Central Valley was a perfect 5-5. That seemed to make the difference in this close divisional game.
With both Spokane and Central Valley coming out with a win it drops the Fever to third in their division. Next week Tri-Cities takes on yet another divisional rival the Boise Burn. This will be the first meeting between the two squads. The Fever's next home game is Monday July 9 against the Amarillo Dusters. For more information you can call the Fever office at (509) 222-2215
