THE MATCH-UP
New York hosts the Indiana Fever on Sunday ... The game will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden ... This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season ... The Liberty is currently 11-11 (.500) after a 73-70 loss in Connecticut on Thursday.

ALL-TIME AGAINST INDIANA (10-9)
The Liberty has a winning all-time record against the Fever, having claimed 10 of the 19 games the two teams have played since Indiana entered the league in 2000 ... The teams have played twice already this season ... Indiana took a 67-59 victory from New York on the Liberty's home court on May 26 ... The Fever also won in Indiana, 62-59, on June 10.

TEAM NOTES
EVEN ACROSS THE BOARD
New York has evened out its record across the board ... The team is now 11-11 overall, including 5-5 at home and 6-6 on the road ... The Liberty sits at .500 overall for the sixth time this season.

ONE MORE BUCKET
After Thursday's game in Connecticut, Elena Baranova needs just two more points to hit 2,000 for her career ... She will be the 33rd player in the history of the WNBA to reach the plateau ... Baranova will attain the milestone with her first basket of Sunday's game against Indiana.

DOUBLE TIME
Ann Wauters posted her third double-double of 2005 against Connecticut on Thursday ... She put up 19 points and 13 rebounds against the Sun ... Her previous double-doubles came June 18 against Phoenix and June 12 against Detroit ... Wauters is one of four Liberty players to have recorded double-doubles this year ... Becky Hammon, Vickie Johnson and Elena Baranova have also accomplished the feat.

I GOT FIVE ON IT
The Connecticut game on Thursday saw five Liberty players score in double figures ... It was the fourth game this season that five players have scored 10 or more points ... The Liberty is now 8-3 this season when four or more players hit double digits in a game.

SHINING AGAINST THE SUN
Ann Wauters continues to shine against the Sun this season ... In the first New York-Connecticut match-up on July 7, she set a career high in scoring with 23 points ... In Thursday's game between the two teams, Wauters set a new career high in rebounding and tied her career best in free throws ... She was 7-8 from the line on Thursday, which tied her highest free throw production, set on June 15, 2004 against Seattle ... Wauters' 10 defensive and 13 total boards on Thursday are both new career bests ... Her prior highest defensive rebound effort was eight, which she pulled down four times, most recently on July 7 against Connecticut ... The 13 total rebounds surpasses the 11 she recorded against Detroit on June 12.

RISING UP AGAINST THE SUN
Shameka Christon also posted some career numbers against the Sun on Thursday ... She dished out seven assists in the game, which surpassed her previous career best of the five she passed for on July 8, 2004 against Washington ... Her two steals on Thursday tied her career high ... It was the fifth time in her two year career that Christon has nabbed two steals in a game ... Christon's six rebounds against Connecticut on Thursday also tied her season best ... She pulled down six boards twice already this season: July 19 at Seattle and June 30 against Sacramento.

WHAT A GAME
Erin Thorn put up some serious numbers against Connecticut on Thursday ... She played 24 minutes in the game, which is a new career high ... Her previous high was the 23 minutes Thorn played against Detroit on August 1, 2003 ... Her four field goals on Thursday tied her career best, also set in the 2003 Detroit game ... Thorn attempted nine shots against the Sun, a new career high ... The most shots she had attempted previously was seven, which she put up on three occasions ... Thorn rattled off 10 points on Thursday in Connecticut, which is a 2005 high for her, surpassing the six points she scored on July 22 in Sacramento.

SHE'S JUST GETTING STARTED
Shameka Christon started Thursday's game in Connecticut ... It was her first of the season ... And once she started, she barely stopped: Christon played 38 minutes in the game, which is the most she has ever played in a game in her career ... The Sun game was just the fifth start in Christon's two year career.

GIVING TO CHARITY
The Liberty out-shot the Sun from the free throw line on Thursday, .929-.667 ... New York has equaled or bested its opponents from the line in 16 of the 22 games so far this season ... The team is currently shooting .830 from the charity stripe, which is tops in the WNBA.

DOUBLE VISION
Opponents are getting a double scoop of Becky Hammon and Ann Wauters this season ... Hammon has scored in double figures in six straight games and 18 overall ... Wauters has reached double digits in 19 of the 22 games the Liberty has played so far in 2005 ... The two are leading the Liberty in scoring, as Hammon is averaging 13.8 ppg and Wauters is slightly behind her with 13.3 ppg.

THREE'S A CROWD
The Liberty's stifling defense has kept the Connecticut offense from shooting the long ball in both games between the two teams this season ... New York held the Sun to a mere .125 shooting percentage on three-pointers in both Thursday's and July 7's games ... Connecticut was 1-8 from behind the arc in each game.

THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM
Sunday will be the third meeting between New York and Indiana this season ... The Fever has come out on top of the first two match-ups ... Indiana won, 67-59, on May 26 in New York, as well as won, 62-59, on June 10 in the Hoosier state ... Crystal Robinson and Ann Wauters led the Liberty in scoring in the first game with 15 points apiece ... Vickie Johnson was the leading New York rebounder with six ... Kelly Miller scored 19 points to lead the Fever in the game, while Natalie Williams was the leading Indiana rebounder with seven ... Wauters topped the Liberty scoring in the June 10 game as well and Elena Baranova led the team in rebounding with seven in that game ... Miller and Kelly Schumacher scored 12 points apiece to lead the Fever, while Williams was once again their highest rebounder with eight.

REBOUNDING ROBINSON
The first time the Liberty and Fever met, New York forward Crystal Robinson hit a milestone in her career ... Just 17 seconds into the game on May 26, Robinson pulled down a Kelly Schumacher missed hook shot for the 500th rebound of her career.

TURN-UNDER
Becky Hammon did not commit a single turnover when New York played Indiana on June 10 ... She had been averaging three a game prior to that ... It was the first time since September 9, 2004 that Hammon did not give the ball over ... She has repeated that feat once since the Fever game: she did not commit any turnovers in the July 7 game against Connecticut.

THIS IS THE YEAR
The past two seasons have produced the same results between the Liberty and Fever ... New York went 1-3 against Indiana in both 2003 and 2004 ... The Liberty is down two games already in 2005, so the team looks to reverse the trend against the Fever with a win tonight.
