Minot Skyrockets News Release

Minot, ND - September 22, 2006 - The Minot Skyrockets will be participating in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) Rookie Draft for the 2006-2007 season. CBA League rules stipulate that all teams have a rookie on their roster for the entire season. Therefore, all CBA clubs will be participating in a six-round draft for rookie players.

A rookie player is one who has only played amateur basketball, meaning he has played for a university or college, but has never played for a professional team and has never been paid to play. Many of these players will be recent graduates from NCAA Division I schools.

"Over the years, some of my picks, such as Roger Powell and Sidney Holmes, have been great, while others have not been so great. Either way, I'm looking forward to going to Sports on Tap to meet and greet Skyrockets fans. The draft is a great way to kick off the season," said Coach Chris Daleo.

All Skyrockets fans are invited to join Coach Daleo and the staff at Sports on Tap on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Fans will be provided detailed information about the Skyrockets' draft picks, as well as information about picks made by the other CBA teams. The Rockettes Dance Team, coached by KaDee Simensen of Brick Studio, will be on hand to perform for fans, and prizes will be given out during the draft party.

The CBA Draft begins at 7 pm CST, and fans are invited to enjoy the pre-draft activities beginning at 6 pm. Coach Daleo will be available for a few questions before and after the draft.

Season tickets are still available for the 2006-2007 season. Several pricing options are available, and an early bird special is being offered until October 1, 2006. Ticket holders have the opportunity to pick their seats on a first-come, first-serve basis, and seats are filling up quickly so please come by the Minot Skyrockets office located in the lower level of the Minot Municipal Auditorium.

Further information can be obtained by calling the Skyrockets' office at 701-839-SLAM.
