Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release
LAWTON, Okla. - The Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson, DeAnthony Bowden, Shawn Daniels and Brandon Dean delivered Christmas presents to a family in need at 11 am on Christmas Eve.
The family was selected by the Lawton Housing Authority and the Cavs volunteered to provide Christmas presents to the family of four.
"It is important to give back to the community as much as possible," Coach Richardson said. "But it is even more important to try and give a good Christmas to family that deserves it."
The two teenage boys in the family each received a pair of shoes, two pairs of jeans, two shirts and a fleece pullover. The boys also received three video games. The mother and father received items from Bath and Body Works.
The Cavs also donated four Cavs t-shirts, two Cavs baseball hats, four general admission tickets and VIP passes to meet the players for the Cavs season opener on Jan 2.
"We wanted to give the family an experience at our games that not everyone has the chance to have," Co-Owner Phil Kennedy said. "Most of all we wanted to make sure the family enjoys their Christmas as a family."
