
Cavs Start Second Series with a Win

LAWTON, Okla. - Cavs hand the Eastern Kentucky Miners 91-79 loss in the first game of the series.
The Cavs guard DeAnthony Bowden led the game with 29 points and hit 3 of 4 three point shots. The Cavs had two other players in double digits for individual points. Tim Ellis and Shawn Daniels both racked up an impressive 18 points a piece.
Bowden said we knew going in they were on a nine game winning streak. They were confident.
"We had to come play âour‟ game. Look at the results." Bowden said.
The Cavs showed extreme heart and dedication in the last 24 minutes of play. They were able to hold the Miners to 34 points in the second half.
Cavs Coach Michael Ray Richardson said, "We played hard. It was a good team win."
Our defense really tested the Miners‟ ball handling and shooting abilities in the second half, Coach Richardson said.
The Cavs claimed the lead for the firs time within the first 2:30 minutes of the third quarter shutting down a competitive Miners offense. The Cavs outscored the Miners 27 to 14 in the third period.
Cavs Co-Owner Mike Brown said, "Not only did the Cavs once again come from behind for a great win, the family environment created at the games is amazing." Catch the Cavs back in action at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and 2:05 Sunday at the Great Plains Coliseum.
