
Cavs Crush Albany Patroons

LAWTON, OKLA- The Oklahoma Cavs were back in action after being on the road for almost 2 weeks. Friday night Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson faced his former team the Albany Patroons to crush them 150-104, and win all 7 quarter points.
Forward Daryan Selvy opened up the game scoring the first five points of the night. Selvy would lead the Cavs with 22 points for the night.
Despite the Patroons player/coach Nate Burton's 46 points and 14 rebounds, Albany never came within reach of the Cavs.
During halftime, the Cavs fans were treated to a show. Tonight was Crash's birthday party with his special guests Rowdy from the Oklahoma City Redhawks, Dozier and Diezel from the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs, and Boomer and Sooner from the University of Oklahoma. The mascots showed off their high flying dunking skills.
The winner of the "Why Your Principal is the Best" contest was also announced. Carriage Hills Principal Larry Stormer was awarded an autographed basketball by the Oklahoma Cavs and a plaque, and his students won free tickets to the game tomorrow afternoon.
Eight Cavs players were in double digits tonight. Selvy led the Cavs with 22 points, Phillips scored 19 points and grabbed 7 boards, Guard Brandon Dean added 17 points, Haywood had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Bowden poured in 16 points, Spanich chipped in 15, rookie Pierre Darden added 12 and Center Tony Key scored 20 points.
The Cavs will meet the Patroons tomorrow afternoon following the Army and Air Force game at 1:00 p.m. Basketball fans will be able to catch 2 games for the price of one.
Playoffs will begin March 11 against Yakama at 7:30 p.m. at the Great Plains Coliseum. Tickets can be purchased at the Cavs office located at 629 SW 'C' Ave.
