
Cavalry Announces Official 2006 Team Roster

Aurora Cavalry News Release
Aurora, CO -- The Aurora Cavalry, Aurora's first professional basketball team, today announced their official team roster for the 2006 season. The 15-member team includes numerous players who have played professionally overseas, in the Continental Basketball Association, American Basketball Association, and other professional leagues within the US.
"We are really excited about the talent on this team. Many of these guys have played together before so the chemistry is already there We chose guys for their athleticism since this is such a fast paced league. I am very confident that this will be a very competitive team. Our goal is to win the championship." said Dirk Speyer, CEO and President, Aurora Cavalry.
Fans of local high school and college basketball will be familiar with many players on the Cavalry roster. The roster features many players from State High School championship teams, Metro State College of Denver Division II national championship teams, University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Mesa State University, and Fort Lewis University.

Dameon Page 6'6 SG University of Colorado From Colorado Springs Sierra High School. Led team To State Championship game. Played at the University of Colorado and Azusa Pacific University. Great leaping ability and explosive scorer who could be one of the IBL's best players. 1996 NIT Finalist, 1997 Conference Player of the Year Runner up, 1998 English League Finalist, 1998 English Cup Winner.
Ronald Raeh 6'5 SG Cal State Stanislaus Colorado Native played at East high School. Went on to play at CSU and the Cal State Stanislaus. Ronald has played in the American Basketball Association and Continental Basketball Association. Tremendous scorer and all around player.
Marquis Holmes 6'8 PF/C University of Idaho Played at Manual High School. Colorado Native. Has played in the American Basketball Association, Continental Basketball Association and professionally overseas. Rebounding machine and plays very well in the paint.
Jamar Bohanan 6'7 SG Metro State College of Denver Aurora Central HS Alumni. Solid and promising young player with the potential of playing in the NBA. Played on the Metro State Division II Championship team.
Leslie Richardson 6'3 PG University of Denver Overland HS grad. Excellent outside shooter. Very athletic. Can shoot the ball with the best of them. Can drive to the basket at will.
DJ Stelly 6'6 SF University of Dayton Overland HS Alumni. Excellent outside shooter. May be Cavalry's shooter from the perimeter. Can play four positions on the floor.
Adam Moller 6'0 PG Fort Lewis University Chery Creek High School grad. Played on State Championship Team. Very smart player. Natural team leader. Plays very aggressive defense.
John Gaines 6'6 PG/F Cal State Bakersfield Aurora Central HS Grad. Colorado Mr. Basketball. All around spectacular player who has played professionally in the ABA, CBA, and overseas in Finland and England.
Lamar Karim 5'11 G Southern Polytechnic State University Very versatile and quick player. Quick and explosive player who can score inside and outside. Can play both guard positions. Has played professionally in the World Basketball Association and overseas. 2005 SouthEast Pro Basketball League Tournament MVP
Derrick Lemuel 6'5 G/F Mesa State University Colorado Native who helped advance his team to the RMAC DII Championship Game against Metro State. Very strong player who can block shots and rebound. Played in All-American Professional Basketball League before it folded earlier this year.
Solomon Yearby 6'2 G Campbell University Very strong perimeter defender. Considered to be a defensive stopper. Excellent athlete who can score from long distance as well as off the dribble. Also played at Wallace State CC and selected for Alabama Junior College All-Star game. Was also presented the Wallace State Captain's Award.
