
Catt 1st Star, Roo Honored by NAHL

The Aberdeen Wings swept the Minnesota Magicians in a two-game series last weekend. Friday's night last second thriller led to a shootout and a 3-2 victory. Saturday, the Wings were dominant with a 0-0 win. The North American Hockey League recognized two Aberdeen Wings with Stars of the Week honors.
Aberdeen Wings goaltender #1 Chad Catt (G-Williamstown, MI) was named the 1st Star of the Week in the NAHL Central Division. In Friday night's game Catt stopped 36 of 38 shots in regulation, and stopped all 4 attempts by Magicians shooter in the final shootout. In Saturday night's game, Catt was unbeatable stopping all 33 shots on goal for his third shutout victory of the season. He currently is the 2nd highest rated goaltender in all of the North American Hockey League.
Wings forward #11 TJ Roo (F-Champlain Park, MN) received an honorable mention. Friday night, the Wings came down to the final 4 seconds of the game down 2-1. With the faceoff in the Wings' offensive zone, Coach Winter sent Roo to the faceoff circle. Roo won the face off dishing the puck back to #4 Jake Horton who took one stride to the right before blasting a game tying goal. The goal would eventually lead to a shootout victory. In Saturday night's game, Roo found himself involved in two of the three Wings goals. Roo offered assists to goals by O'Neill and Haak.
