Fort Worth Cats News Release
The Cats have signed third baseman Terence Green to a contract for the 2005 season. It will be Green's second year with the team.
In 2004, Green batted .273 with eight homers and 55 runs batted in. He led the team in hits with 99. Green played in all 94 games for the Cats, including the first 19 games of the season at first base before switching positions in late May.
The position switch coincided with Green's hottest streak of the season. From May 24-30, Green batted .391 with four home runs and 10 runs batted in. Green homered in four straight games from May 26-30. For his efforts, he was named that week's Central Baseball League Player of the Week.
The 2005 season will mark Green's sixth in the CBL. His career began with Springfield/Ozark in 2000 where he batted .281 in 93 games. Green spent four seasons with the Mountain Ducks, posting career highs in batting average in 2002 (.286) and RBI (57 in 2003). He has played in all of his team's games over the past three seasons.
Green, who now resides in Fort Worth, was born in Plano and was an integral part of the historic 1994 Plano East-John Tyler playoff game. He played college baseball at Texas Wesleyan University.
