Fort Worth Cats News Release

One night after allowing only one run and scoring 10, the Fort Worth Cats fell behind early and couldn't catch up, dropping game two of the season to the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 10-7.

Cats' starter Charlie Hejny struggled early, giving up five runs in the first two innings before settling down and throwing only 24 pitches total through the next three.

The Cats put together two runs in the second and another in the third and fourth to make it a one-run game. RGV brought in three more in the seventh and the Cats made it close again with three of their own in the bottom half.

RGV brought in two more in the eighth inning to put the game away.

Fort Worth committed four costly errors and left 10 men on base.

Julio Franco went 1-for-4 in his second game with the team and scored three runs.

The Cats are back in action against the WhiteWings at 7:05 pm Thursday at LaGrave Field. It's the first Thirsty Thursday of the season, where fountain sodas are priced at two dollars and two canned beers are just five dollars.

Tickets can be purchased online at FWCats.com or by calling the ticket office at (817) 332-CATS.
