Cats make roster move
HUNTSVILLE, AL Â– Huntsville Channel Cats head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has signed former Miami Manatees defenseman, Steve Howard.
He played in 16 games for Miami earlier this season as scored two goals and had 16 assists for 18 total points. He also had 26 penalty minutes. He also played in 23 games for the Macon Trax earlier this season scoring five goals and adding six assists. He played in 55 games for Macon last season in the ACHL scoring six goals and adding 20 assists. He played in 61 games for the San Antonio Outlaws of the CHL in 2001-2002 and scored two goals and had seven assists.
The Cats released Shawn Martin to make room for Howard. Martin had played in 33 games this season and had one goal and seven assists. He also had 43 penalty minutes.
Huntsville has also signed Mark Cole to a three-game tryout. He played in nine games this season with Miami and had two assists. He also played in 35 games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the UHL and scored one goal and three assists.
Forward, James Patterson, will not travel with the team to Knoxville tomorrow night. He is joining the Florida Everblades of the ECHL in Biloxi to play the weekend.
