Edmonton Capitals News Release

Edmonton,AB -The Edmonton Cracker-Cats four game series against the Long Beach Armada ended in a 5-2 loss. Corwin Malone got the start and went six innings. His offense support just wasn't there this evening, as Armada starter, Rik Currier only gave up 2 runs in the 6 innings he pitched.

Malone's final numbers for the evening were: 6 innings pitched, 5 hits, 6 strikeouts. Giving up 4 earned runs.

The Cracker-Cats season record now moves to .500 at 22-22.

Please see attached box and line scores.

Friendly Wager The Cracker-Cats and Long Beach's public relations managers placed a bet on tonight's game. Because the 'Cats lost, our front office will wear Armada hats when we go to Long Beach in August to take in the series versus the 'Cats.

The 'Cats return home Friday July 11th as they take on the Calgary Vipers. Game time for that one is 7:05.

The Probable starting pitcher for the 'Cats is Chris Cullen.
