(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Rattlers attackmen Casey and Ryan Powell and their younger brother Mikey will visit Dick's Sporting Goods at The Marketplace on Friday, February 24th. "The Powell Hour Tour â06" will make a stop in Rochester from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the store located at 305 Miracle Drive in Henrietta. The visit is the third stop on a five-city tour, which also includes Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Watertown.
The event features a question and answer session, autographs, free prizes and tricks and demos from three of the best lacrosse players in the world. Casey and Ryan will enter their sixth seasons in Major League Lacrosse in 2006. The campaign is their fourth together with the Rattlers. Mikey returns to the Baltimore Bayhawks, where he won the 2005 MLL Championship as a rookie.
The Rattlers open their sixth season in the MLL at Philadelphia against the Barrage on Saturday, May 20th. The game is part of a three-game road trip to open the team's fifth season. The Rattlers will play their first game at the new 17,500-seat PAETEC Park on Saturday, June 10th against the Long Island Lizards.
Major League Lacrosse, a 10-team professional outdoor lacrosse league, was founded in 1999 by fitness entrepreneur Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Global L.L.C., and founding partners Dave Morrow, a former champion lacrosse player and now CEO of Warrior Lacrosse, a leading global provider of innovative and high performance lacrosse equipment; and Timothy B. Robertson, former CEO of The Family Channel and the current chairman of Bay Shore Enterprises, L.L.C., an investment holding company with activities in international media and Internet technology ventures.
The MLL commenced play in June of 2001 and is comprised of two conferences. The Eastern Conference contains the original six teams, Baltimore, Boston, Long Island, (Montclair) New Jersey, Philadelphia and Rochester. The Western Conference debuts in the 2006 season with MLL expansion franchises Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
