
Carvalho Leads Offensive Onslaught as Tropics Topple Orlando, 10-3, to Extend Lead in the East

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Tropics scored six unanswered goals in the second half to pull away from the Orlando SeaWolves, 10-3, to remain in first place in the Major Arena Soccer League's Eastern Conference.
Ricardo Carvalho, who entered the weekend third in points in the MASL, had two goals and two assists to leading a multi-player attack. Drew Ruggles and Guilherme (two goals and one assist each) and Gordy Gurson (goal and two assists) all had three- point nights, while Zach Reget had his third straight two-goal game. Matt Clare added a goal and an assist.
The Tropics improved to 8-1 on the year, and got additional good news Sunday when the St. Louis Ambush surprised the Milwaukee Wave in overtime to put the Tropics up by 1 1/2 game over both the Wave and Utica City FC in the East.
Orlando, which got goals from Jeff Michaud, Luiz Mota and Rapha Tobias, falls to 1-7.
Brett Petricek lowered his goals against average in picking up his fourth win. He was third in the league in GAA coming into the matinee.
