Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
In what has become an all too familiar scene, Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs goaltender Ken Carroll again proved too much for the Fort Worth Brahmas, as Carroll's brilliant play in net carried the Mudbugs to a 3-2 win over Fort Worth on Sunday night at the Century-Tel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Carroll, the Mudbugs standout netminder, stopped 24 of the 26 Brahmas shots he faced in the game to lead Bossier to their fourth consecutive win over Fort Worth. Carroll was especially brilliant in the third and final period, as he made several spectacular saves to prevent Fort Worth from scoring the tying goal. Carroll's best save of the game came with just over 4:00 minutes left in regulation when he denied Brahmas winger Martin Paquet on a one-on-one scoring chance.
Forwards Jan Jas and Brian Bansner scored in the loss for Fort Worth. Ryan Manitowich, Dan Wildfong, and Shane Palahicky netted the Mudbugs goals in the game.
Dan Murphy took the loss in net for Fort Worth, allowing the three Mudbugs goals on 18 shots.
The defeat extended the Brahmas losing streak in Bossier City to eleven consecutive games and drops Fort Worth's record to 14-8-3 on the season. With the win, the Bugs now have a two point advantage over Fort Worth in the Northeast Division standings.
Fort Worth will kick off a five game homestand this Tuesday, Dec. 28 when they welcome the Oklahoma City Blazers to the Fort Worth Convention Center. Game time will be 7:30 p.m. For additional information, please contact the Brahmas team office at (817) 336-4423.
