Carolina Speed News Release

Concord, NC 9/8/08- The true meaning of "Carolina Speed" will be apparent as ever as Charlotte's own Carolina Speed indoor football team will become primary sponsor of Winston-Salem, NC female driver Angie McBride's NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle at the inaugural NHRA Carolina Nationals event September 11-14th at the all new zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC.

It just may be a Charlotte sports fan's dream as two of the area's most popular sports come together as one. The event will kick off a year of firsts for both sports to the Charlotte area. While the 2009 season will be third year of play for the Carolina Speed it will be the first year for the Speed to play in their new home of Cricket Arena with new local owner Eddie Littlefield at the helm. As for Angie McBride and the entire NHRA series, this weekend's "Carolina Nationals" event will mark their first ever event in the Concord/Charlotte area.

"When we had the opportunity to sponsor Angie in the inaugural race at zMAX Dragway right here in our own backyard we had to jump on it. You can't ask for a better total partnership package, what's more Charlotte, NC than motorsports and football. The fans of both can easily relate to one another and you can almost bet that most are huge fans of both sports and to bring the two together is the best of both worlds," stated Eddie Littlefield owner of the Carolina Speed.

The partnership will actually kick off early as the Speed will host a meet and greet at Carolina Autosports in Concord on Wednesday September 10th with McBride and teammate Matt Smith, the defending NHRA Pro Stock motorcycle champion. Fans are encouraged to come out to the Carolina Autosports location at 829 Church St. in Concord from 11-6pm to meet with the two drivers where they will be on hand signing autographs with their bikes on display.

When asked about racing at her new home track in Charlotte with the colors of the Carolina Speed on board her Smith Racing Buell bike Angie had this to say, "I don't know if I can wait much longer for this weekend to get here, I mean it's just going to be awesome to be racing in Charlotte. And when you think it can't get any better racing at your home track with family and friend around it does by having the Carolina Speed, Charlotte's own indoor football team; jump on board as our sponsor for the race. This weekend is like the perfect mix of adrenalin and action for any Charlotte area sports fan and I'm just thrilled Eddie (Littlefield) and the rest of the team had me be a part of it. I guess Charlotte's had the opportunity to see "Carolina Speed" on the field now it's time they see it down track."

In March 2009 the Carolina Speed will begin play at the Cricket Arena in Charlotte, NC and entering their third season of play as a member of the American Indoor Football Association. Various 2009 season ticket packages still remain. For more information call 704-786-0280 or visit www.carolinaspeed.com.
