
Carnell Houston Inks With 'Ants

TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts are pleased to announce the re-signing of defensive lineman Carnell Houston for the 2004 season.
Houston, a native of Okolona, Mississippi, attended Middle Tennessee State University where he continued his football career after high school.
The former Blue Raider joined the FireAnts back in 2001, during the team's inaugural season. Houston has played with the FireAnts every year since, providing continued momentum on the âAnts defensive line.
"Anyone who follows football in these parts knows if your last name in Houston and you are from Okolona, you're a football player...Carnell is no exception," Head Coach Bobby Hall said. "He can play linebacker or defensive end, and we are very excited to have him returning this season."
The FireAnts have signed 13 players to date, including Joe Gunn, Pig Prather, Patrick Garth, Rico McDonald, Bobby Hill, Chris Rainey, Eric Bingham, Will Hall, Darryl Carter, Reggie Smith, David Mooneyham, Johnny Mickell, and now Carnell Houston to the 2004 lineup.
The FireAnts will kick off the 2004 home season on Friday, March 12th at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo. Season tickets are still on sale for all seven home games of football action by calling the FireAnts Office at (662) 620-BITE, with prices starting as low as $70 for adults and $42 for children 12 and under / seniors 60 and older.
