Carmichael named goaltender of the week

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Huntsville Channel Cats goaltender, Matt Carmichael, has been named the South East Hockey League Goaltender of the Week.

Carmichael is went 2-0 last week, stopping 70 of the 76 shots on goal that he faced. The Bristol, Quebec native leads all SEHL "twine tenders" in wins (23), minutes played (1876), saves (1021), shootout wins (3),and he's tied for the league lead in shutouts with 2. On the season, Carmichael is 23-9 with a 2.81 goals against average and a 92.1% save percentage.

The Channel Cats travel to Knoxville Thursday night to face the Ice Bears and return home on Friday night to battle Ice Bears again. Start time Friday night is 8:35.
