Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

Wildcats forward Adam Cardwell, the 1987 birth date from Long Beach, California, has been selected to attend the USA Hockey Junior Select Evaluation Camp Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Minnesota. The camp will be used to help choose the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete at the Viking Cup in Camrose, Alberta, Dec. 26 - Jan. 2.

Cardwell is one of only 42 junior hockey players selected to attend the camp. He is one of only four players from the NAHL, and the lone player representing the NAHL South Division.

"It definitely surprised me," said Cardwell. "I wasn't really expecting something like that so early in the season."

The Wildcats are off to a hot start this season posting a 9-4 record, and Cardwell has been a big part of the Wildcats early season success. He has six goals and six assists for twelve points in only 13 games.

"This is a great honor for Adam, but it also speaks highly about our team and our success in the early part of the season," said Wildcats Head Coach Brian Meisner. "He has stepped right in and made an immediate contribution. He is a gritty player, but with very good skill."
