Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The 2010 Midwest League Champion Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are once again playing Cupid for Valentine's Day. Fans can have the Captains mascot, Skipper, deliver a special Valentine's Day package to their sweetheart as part of this annual program in partnership with J.D. Ballantine's Flowers and Gifts in Mentor.
Fans that purchase the package will have Skipper deliver a box of one dozen roses to their sweetheart at their residence or workplace. The roses can also have a personalized message included on a card. In addition to the roses, a voucher for four box seat tickets to a 2011 Captains game will also be delivered to the loved one.
The cost of the package is only $60 and orders will be taken until February 9 and are limited to the first 25 orders placed. Orders will be delivered between 8 AM and 4:30 PM on Valentine's Day, Monday, February 14. Deliveries will be available to recipients within a 25-mile radius east, west and south of Classic Park. Deliveries north of Classic Park onto Lake Erie will not be accepted due to Skipper's fear of deep icy water which is the result of an ice fishing incident years ago. Fans can reserve their package on-line at captainsbaseball.com or by calling Jen Yorko at the Captains office at 440-975-8085 ext 116.
J.D. Ballantine's Flower and Gifts are located at 8324 Mentor Avenue in Mentor. J.D.
