We will take on our rivals the Newport Beach Breakers on Friday Night at 7:00, while Boston (with Martina Navratilova) will battle New York (with Martina Hingis) in the other semi that afternoon at 3:00. The finals are Saturday at 3:00.
We hope you'll come on out with your friends and family to our beautiful All State Stadium in Citrus Heights and be part of the World Team Tennis Playoffs . . . . . See you there!
Fast Facts:
Our Mark Knowles was named the Men's MVP and Elena Likhovtseva received the Women's MVP Award.
Our women players, Likhovtseva (#16) and Nicole Vaidisova (#23), both reached the round of 16 at the US Open this past week and they have been on fire this Summer.
Our rookie from Stanford and the #2 player in college tennis, Sam Warburg, finished the season at #1 in doubles with Knowles. Following the Caps season in July, Warburg has won a Future Singles Title, reached a final and a semi, and he has won two Future Doubles Titles.
Sorry to report that our Captain Mark Knowles hurt his knee at the US Open and will not compete for us this weekend and he is being replaced by young American doubles star Travis Parrott, the former NCAA doubles champ from the University of Georgia and currently #47 in the world.
