Caps Present 3rd Annual Home Run Hooky

On June 1, 2011, the Edmonton Capitals will hold their third annual Home Run Hooky at TELUS Field at 11am. This game will provide educational information to kids throughout the day, based upon the game of baseball. Elements of mathematics, socials studies and science will be incorporated into this fun event.

Home Run Hooky began on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. At 11am the Edmonton Capitals hosted a baseball game at TELUS Field designed specifically for elementary-aged school kids.
There were fun activities from start to finish and Edmonton Capital Darryl Brinkley capped it off by hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game for the home team by a final score of 5-4.
Home Run Hooky was such a resounding success that our other family brand in the Edmonton Oilers family, the Edmonton Oil Kings, hosted their first-ever Hockey Hooky January 13, 2010, and second annual on January 12, 2011.
