Caps For Courage Now Available
November 10, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
Since establishing its partnership this June with the Hoffen Foundation, whose mission is to raise money to assist children with differing diseases, disabilities and socioeconomic challenges, the Central Hockey League has generated over $5,300.00 for worthwhile causes in CHL cities. In an effort to further support the foundation, the CHL has announced the re-emergence of the "Caps For Courage" program initially established by former Lubbock Cotton King player Anthony Donskov. All proceeds from the sale of the $25.00 caps (includes shipping) will be distributed to charitable organizations through the Foundation. The program was tremendously successful in Lubbock (raising over $5,000.00 on the 02/03 season) and it was my desire to have this program grow at the CHL level," said Donskov. "I am proud and excited to see this program to benefit many other CHL communities."
Each of the black and teal hats features the "Caps For Courage" logo, designed by the Joe Bosack Graphic Design Company (www.joebosack.com) as well as the CHL and Hoffen Foundation marks. The caps are produced by CHL merchandise partner Zephyr Hats (www.zhats.com) out of Loveland, Colorado. "Caps for Courage" can be ordered through the Hoffen Foundation at www.hoffenfoundation.org .
CHL Linesman and Arlington, TX native Tim Zemens founded the Hoffen Foundation after his successful battle with cancer, and has worked tirelessly to promote the charitable organization. "The Hoffen Foundation is proud to assist in continuing the program that Anthony Donskov began in Lubbock," said Zemens. "We are excited about being able to assist many children across CHL cities."
In addition, on Tuesday, November 16th, the Hoffen Foundation and the Fort Worth Brahmas are welcoming 25 youngsters from the Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth to their game against the Topeka Tarantulas as special guests of the Microsoft Corporation. One of the attendees will sing the National Anthem prior to the contest, while another will participate in the ceremonial opening face-off.

Central Hockey League Performance of the Week
Bossier-Shreveport forward Scott Sheppard helped the Mudbugs end a four game winless slide with a dominating performance in a 7-4 win November 5th in Memphis.
