Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
Barre, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves lost to the Arecibo Capitanes by a score of 97-86. The Frost Heaves never led in the game and ice cold shooting on the part of the Frost Heaves didn't help the cause. Vermont only shot 36% from the floor and 33% from beyond the arc.
Arecibo on the other hand couldn't seem to miss. The Capitanes shot 50% from both 2 point and 3-point range. The Capitanes were led in scoring by Elias Ayuso who lit up the Aud with 40 points. He was 9-14 from the field and 8 for 10 from 3-point land. David Cortes added 14 for the Capitanes and Omar Alvarado added 12.
The Frost Heaves were led in scoring by Jared Carter with 16 points followed by Benson Callier and Troy Jackson with 12 points each. The Frost Heaves get no rest as they had to Manchester on Saturday for a showdown with the Millrats at 7:05 p.m. at Southern New Hampshire University.
The Frost Heaves next home game is on Sunday February 28 when they take on the Halifax Rainmen in Burlington at Memorial Auditorium. Game time is 2:05 p.m.
