
Capitals Add Martina Hingis to 2011 Home Schedule

(Sacramento, CA) - The Sacramento Capitals will feature yet another marquee tennis star this summer, adding former No. 1 women's player Martina Hingis to the 2011 home schedule at Sunrise Mall.
Hingis will compete at Sunrise Mall to open the Capitals' World TeamTennis home season on July 8 as a member of the visiting the New York Sportimes. Hingis spent 209 weeks at the World's No. 1 women's spot during her career, winning five Grand Slam singles titles and nine Grand Slam women's doubles titles.
"Adding Hingis to the mix of our already impressive list of marquee stars only adds to the excitement of this upcoming Capitals season," said Matt McEvoy, Capitals General Manager. "Hingis brings a prominent level of success and star power to an already loaded schedule at Sunrise Mall."
The Sacramento Capitals will also feature world-renowned tennis star Serena Williams as a marquee player during the team's opening weekend on July 8-10. Mardy Fish will be showcased with the Capitals of World TeamTennis at Sunrise Mall on July 15.
Current ATP No. 1 doubles partners, Mike and Bob Bryan (the Bryan Brothers), will compete at Sunrise Mall on July 12 for Kansas City.
