
Capers returns to Renegades

OTTAWA â The Ottawa Renegades have signed import defensive back Byron Capers to a one-year contract with a club option for the 2005 season.
The 30-year-old native of Washington returns to Ottawa after spending part of the 2003 season with the Renegades. Capers played five games with Ottawa in 2003. He later joined the Edmonton Eskimos where he finished the season.
Capers (6-1, 200, Florida State) began his Canadian Football League career in 1998 with the Toronto Argonauts. He has also played with BC and Winnipeg.
Capers will be in the lineup for the Renegades when Ottawa visits the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, July 9. Kickoff at Percival Molson Stadium is at 7 p.m., and the game can been seen on TSN and RDS. It can be heard in the Ottawa region on Team 1200, and on the Internet at www.team1200.com.
